The Aston Martin Aramco Esports Team kicked off its 2025 Motorsport UK British F4 Esports Championship campaign at Donington Park.
The opening round, taking place on 24 September, marked the beginning of a highly competitive season, with our drivers, Iggie Smith and Conor Muir, battling within a closely contested field of 32 cars.
In Qualifying, Iggie Smith secured P11 on the grid, while teammate Conor Muir lined up in P13. The first race of the evening saw Iggie deliver a composed drive, finishing P10 to open his points tally for the season. Meanwhile, Conor battled hard in the midfield and, after an intense contest, ultimately crossed the finish line in P14.
The second race brought more drama for the team. Iggie once again demonstrated consistency, holding position to secure another top 10 finish. Conor, however, was unlucky to be caught up in an incident which dropped him to the back of the field. Despite the setback, he showed resilience and fighting spirit to recover places, eventually finishing P23.
Reflecting on the evening, the team takes encouragement from debutant Iggie's pair of top 10 results. For Conor, the challenge of Race Two will serve as motivation heading into the next round.
The championship continues on Wednesday 1 October at Thruxton, one of the fastest and most demanding circuits on the calendar. With valuable experience gained from Donington Park, the Aston Martin Aramco Esports Team aims to build momentum and push further up the order in Round Two.
