Sebastian Vettel: My hopes for 2022

After committing his future to Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team for 2022, Sebastian Vettel reflects on his journey with the team so far and his hopes for the future.

Arriving as a four-time Formula One World Champion and one of the most decorated drivers in the history of the sport, Sebastian joined the team with a wealth of experience and a passion to succeed.

With a number of landmarks already achieved together, alongside plenty of learning from the more challenging moments, the foundations are in place for progress in 2022.

"I think it's great moving forward to know that I'm going to be part of the team next year," says Sebastian.

"We've had some races that stood out. We had a podium in Baku. Other highlights, I think in general working with the team, and working with Lance has been fun.

"There's definitely a challenge ahead for us to improve, but I think we all get on and there’s no holding back. People communicate openly and everybody is trying to move in the same direction."

Now, with more than half a season in his new surroundings, Sebastian has settled into the tight-knit family atmosphere of the team and is confident in what the future holds.

Sebastian Vettel discusses how he has settled into the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One™ Team family during his first season and his aspirations for a new era of Formula One racing in 2022.

"I had a chance this year to get to know the team, the way the team is working, and we're all very excited to see where we're going to be next year.

"There's the spirit of a small team, but I think we are getting more and more established. The spirit is right, I believe in the project, and I think the team will succeed in the future.

"It's very difficult to know what to expect in the coming year but I'm very excited. The goals are set high and it’s an unknown for everyone, so I’m looking forward to it."
