After strong performances in Formula 4, Felipe moved to Euroformula Open full-time in 2018. He was simply unstoppable that year, winning all bar two of the races, and finishing second in the others.

Felipe moved up to Formula 2 for 2020, and immediately put himself on the map by winning on his debut weekend. After impressing by taking second in qualifying, Felipe went on to win the second race of the weekend in convincing fashion to set up a strong rookie campaign.

Winning both races of a Formula 2 weekend is a very rare feat, and Felipe is one of just a small number of drivers to achieve this feat. Qualifying did not go his way, and Felipe was left with overtaking to do in both races. He did exactly that, winning the Sprint race from fourth and the Feature race from 10th with two very measured drives.

Just hours after clinching the Formula 2 title, Felipe joined the team as part of its Driver Development Programme. He also became one of the team's reserve drivers and had both his first F1 test and then first FP1 outing later in the year.

Around many of the world's best racetracks, Felipe took part in many tests throughout 2023 – enhancing his own skillset and the team’s understanding of the car thanks to his work on track and in the simulator, while also fulfilling his Reserve Driver role in pre-season testing.

Felipe took to the track for Free Practice One in Mexico and Abu Dhabi, assisting the team with data collection and car set-up ahead of the Grands Prix. He also had the opportunity to get behind the wheel in the end-of-season Pirelli Tyre Test at Yas Marina Circuit, where he ran the homologated versions of all Pirelli's 2025 tyres.
