Manuel Biancolilla joins AMF1 Esports Team

Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Esports Team returns with an exciting new look ahead of the biggest virtual racing campaign in Team Silverstone's history.

Our 2022 campaign kicks off this week with a debut appearance in SRO Esports, which begins with a virtual race at Misano on Wednesday 6 April.

Leading the team into the event is the first member of our all-new driver line-up for 2022, Manuel Biancolilla, who will race in the Europe Sprint.

Manuel has extensive front-running experience in sim racing, having finished second in the 2020 Virtual Le Mans 24 Hours while representing Aston Martin Racing.

He has also previously raced in the F1 Esports Series, and made it into the Grand Final of Formula E: Accelerate last year.

Manuel's wealth of experience across different disciplines makes him the perfect driver to take on SRO Esports, as he marks the team's series debut aboard an Aston Martin Racing V8 Vantage GT3.

Beginning at Misano, Manuel will then compete at Zandvoort, the Nürburgring, the Hungaroring and Monza across the five-race series.

SRO Esports has been revised for 2022, featuring a field of leading sports car manufacturers on the PC version of Assetto Corsa Competizione and its related DLC.

Traditional sportscar racing features have now been implemented, including a Balance of Performance (designed to equalise differing car make) and a driver class system (designed to create dynamic and strategic racing), with Manuel ranked as a Pro driver.

The format features two practice sessions totalling 50 minutes, a quickfire 15-minute qualifying and a one-hour race, all across one evening of competition.

In the race, there's a mandatory pitstop and wide-open choices for tyre and fuel strategy, as well as limited driving assists.
