  • Apprentice Electrical Technician

    Purpose

    The primary role of the Apprentice Electrical Technician will be to prototype, manufacture and service/repair wiring harnesses, electrical assemblies, sensors and electronic units. The parts being produced will most likely be either for race car fitment or use on one of test rigs within the factory.

    Primary Responsibilities

    - Manufacture of wiring harness assemblies in line with the production documentation provided.

    - Carrying out line inspection of assemblies in build to ensure that correct processes have been followed and quality levels are maintained.

    - Carry out Cirris electrical test of harness assemblies post build/service.

    - Carry out servicing of harness assemblies post use to include cleaning and visual inspection, reporting of any damage and support of any repairs required.

    - Manufacture of harnesses for test/support equipment and rigs including panel wiring, etc.

    - Cable termination/connector fit to sensors and actuators.

    - Mock-up of wiring harnesses, determining leg lengths, boot angles, etc. and generating necessary sketches/drawings to capture dimensions.

    - Updates to the manufacturing procedures/processes.

    - Support for car build/freight pack up as required.

    - Support for any on car testing and fault finding/investigation as required.

    - Support for installation and commissioning of test rigs.

    - Maintain records as parts are manufactured/serviced.

    - General support of production, test and calibration activities with the Electronics dept.

    The training an apprentice will take and the qualification you will receive at the end is an Engineering Fitter Level 3 with the Engineering Trust.

    On completion, a successful and committed apprentice will have the opportunity to grow and develop with the team.

  • Assistant Finance Business Partner

    Purpose

    - To provide the team with accurate and insightful financial analysis and forecasting in order to improve decision making capabilities.

    Primary Responsibilities

    MONTH END

    - Timely, insightful and accurate production of management reporting for the business, including calculation and input into the general ledger of various accruals and prepayments, and review and analysis of costs and income.

    - Preparation of multiple balance sheet reconciliations and support with audit process.

    - Ensure POs and invoices are coded correctly onto the P&L or balance sheet through regular review of invoices with accounts payables and cost centre reviews to check for incorrect postings.

    BUSINESS PARTNERING

    - Support the Finance Business Partners in providing business partnering for the Cost Centre owners and their teams, providing them with accurate and meaningful financial information to support them with month end reviews and budgets / reforecasts, as well as decision making to drive the business forward and influence results.

    - Providing analysis support to the Finance Business Partner.

  • CFD Software Developer

    We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Software developer to fill an exciting position within the Computational Fluid Dynamics group.

    Relying on a high level of automation, the CFD process is critical to the speed and quality of the car's aerodynamic development and benefits from constant maintenance and improvement. The full process is a combination of a web framework and services built on a background of scripts driving both open source and in-house software.

    Working closely with the CFD, HPC and IT development groups and reporting to the Head of CFD, the successful candidate will be expected to excel in a problem-solving environment, developing applications, tools and methods to bind and continually improve the entire CFD process. The successful candidate should have the following preferred skills and knowledge:

    - Frontend development (JavaScript, React or similar, HTML, CSS) - Backend development (Django/Flask or similar) - SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL or similar) & NoSQL (MongoDB or similar) databases

    Experience in computer graphics (Unity/ParaView/WebGL or similar) and CI/CD tools (TeamCity or similar) would be beneficial.

    Experience in CFD is not essential. A desire to learn, understand and contribute is paramount.

  • Senior Performance Engineer

    We are looking for a high performing and experienced Senior Performance Engineer to join our team.

    Reporting to the Head of Trackside Support and working within the Trackside Performance group, this role is fundamental to the performance optimisation and trackside operation of the cars.

    The successful candidate will undoubtedly have at least 5 years of trackside F1 experience at either Performance Engineer or Race Engineer level.

    It is essential that the applicant has the necessary experience to both support and guide the Performance Engineers in all areas of car performance optimisation.

    In this manner, candidates will need to demonstrate a command of the analysis and optimisation of the following areas of Performance Engineering: The Aerodynamic platform, the key factors that influence Tyre performance, the Axle Balance and Differential control systems and Driver performance from the various data sources available.

    On top of this, a solid background in a specific area of car performance, such as Aerodynamic or Tyre Performance would be an advantage. A data-driven approach to performance optimisation is essential.

    Depending on the applicant, the distribution of race event attendance and factory support is to be determined. Effective engagement with the trackside operations, even if supporting from Mission Control at the team’s headquarters, will be a key element of this role.

  • Senior Vehicle Modelling Engineer

    An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Vehicle Modelling Engineer to join the Performance Simulation Group.

    The role will be focused on the development of the Team’s performance vehicle models and simulations, for use trackside, in the simulator and in offline vehicle development settings. Our goal is to produce a portfolio of cutting-edge tools across all simulation use cases. The position will involve cooperation with Vehicle Performance, Simulator, Performance Software, Race Engineering, Aerodynamics, Design Office, R&D and Mechanical Design functions.

    Purpose:

    The primary role of the Sensor Technician will be to carry out goods-in & turnaround inspection and calibration checks on the sensors used by the Team, complete build/final assembly of the parts and collate data/generate reports of the tests carried out.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    -Carry out inspection of parts received from external suppliers to ensure that they meeting the required specification.

    -Verifying the calibration of the sensors matches the data provided by the supplier using the appropriate test equipment/rig.

    We have a new opportunity to be part of the team in the role of Supplier Quality Engineer.

    Purpose

    - To ensure external suppliers produce quality parts to Company standards - Understand the overall expectation of the Quality and Inspection process required and implement new systems and methods in a constructive, positive, and practical manner to achieve optimum results of improved quality components from suppliers

    - To actively contribute to the Team's primary objective of consistently being a top three team in the FIA Constructor’s Championship

    Primary Responsibilities

    - Audit suppliers and track their performance and introduce improvement plans as necessary

    - Introduce and maintain quality standards documentation for parts produced externally

    - Provide procedures and processes to enable and maintain full compliance of quality

    - Development of supplier relations with a proactive approach to developing knowledge and skill sets

    - Improve communication with Suppliers, Inspection, Procurement, Manufacturing and Design Office to successfully deliver quality parts, ensuring all processes have been carried out to the standard required

    - Ensure the NCR process is robust, and all information is fed back to relevant suppliers in a timely manner

    - Successful on time management of assigned projects

    - Professional and dynamic representation of the Company when dealing with current and any potential suppliers

    - To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required

    - To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure

    - To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of quality assurance methods and processes

    Skills & Knowledge Required

    - Must possess an excellent working knowledge of Quality Assurance methods and processes in a high-pressure engineering environment

    - Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure high quality parts are provided by suppliers within the timescales required

    - Possess a thorough understanding of engineering drawings

    - Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar

    - Demonstrate a good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Team

    - To be self-motivated and thrive in a challenging environment

    - Possess the ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales

    - To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues and suppliers

    - To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment

    - Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills

    - Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues

    - Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety

    The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory / Brackley premises however there may be a requirement to travel as and when requested to meet the requirements of the company.
