    We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in the role of Aero R&D Design Engineer within the Aero R&D department.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and development of Aero R&D projects, this role encompasses mechanical and R&D requirements of the Wind Tunnel Model, full-size Aero Testing Equipment and Test Rigs. This is a varied and creative role where new ideas and technologies are key to improving performance.

    Reporting to the Lead Engineer you will generate ideas, schemes, designs and developments for the wind tunnel model to improve the performance and efficiency of our wind tunnel test programme and to improve the performance of other associated projects.

    Primary Responsibilities

    - To provide design schemes from concept stage to component design, assemblies and detail drawings.

    - To mechanically engineer designs and problem solve issues arising from Aero R&D projects.

    - To design tooling and fixtures required to test and validate designs.

    - To propose and manage new projects and developments where possible and relevant.

    - Define component and assembly test specifications.

    - To provide follow up support on these projects during assembly and testing and development.

    - To communicate effectively with other departments.

    - To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally.

    Skills & Knowledge Required

    - Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline.

    - Previous experience of working in a mechanical design role is expected, preferably in a motorsport environment.

    - Excellent working knowledge of Parametric 3D CAD modelling is expected, preferably Catia 3DX.

    - Proven ability to create engineering drawings to industry standard BS8888.

    - Good understanding of design for manufacture.

    - Good understanding of mechanical engineering first principles and hand calculations.

    - An understanding of fundamental stress analysis (FE) and material properties.

    - Experience of validating designs through physical testing is desirable.

    - Ability to demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

    - Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales.

    - To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and changing environment.

    The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory.

    Hours

    We have opportunities to be part of the Composite Manufacturing team in the role of Composite Production Engineer.

    The role would suit an experienced candidate with a comprehensive background in composite manufacturing within a top-level motorsport environment. The purpose of the role is to work alongside both Composite Design and Composite Manufacturing departments to aid continuous improvement of processes, contributing to improving quality and reducing lead time within Composite Laminating, Trim Shop and Pattern Shop.

    The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

    - Extensive composite manufacturing experience, within laminating, trimming/assembly.

    - A solid understanding of composite materials and their properties.

    - CNC Composite Machining knowledge would be an advantage.

    - Be able to interpret engineering drawings, layup and build manuals.

    - CAD experience, ideally Catia to a level that will support model interrogation and a small amount of physical modelling.

    - A methodical approach with an appetite for problem solving.

    - Excellent organisation skills, capable of multi tasking and prioritising workload to achieve demanding targets.

    - Technical communication skills in order to produce presentations, procedure, reports and work instructions.

    - Experience of Virtek laser ply projection methodology and kit cutting template preparation.

    The key responsibilities of this role are:

    - To work alongside Composite Manufacturing departments to ensure process is efficient and achievable, whilst pushing the boundaries of material and technologies.

    - Develop the capabilities of the Composite Manufacturing department, putting the team at the cutting edge of manufacture whilst minimizing scrap, wastage and quality defects.

    - Produce standard operating procedures and manufacturing documentation in order to control manufacture and traceability of parts.

    - Provide the kit cutting department with data required in order to nest and cut kits for composite components, developing utilisation of this technology and driving improvement.

    - Provide laminating department with data required in order to make use of laser projection hardware during laminating process, developing utilisation of this technology and driving improvement.

    - Be the main source of communication between shopfloor and design in both directions in order to ensure manufacture of parts is achievable and carried out as per design intent.

    - Collaborate with design in order to develop design for manufacture.

    - Feed back manufacturing issues and improvements to design, ensuring changes to drawings and laminate manuals are recorded to reflect manufacturing process.

    - Minimise composite resource wastage – including time and materials.

    - To supply training to colleagues as and when required.

    - To monitor and prioritise own workload to scheduled dates and to feedback any issues that may affect delivery as soon as possible.

    The role will be based at the Silverstone Factory however there may be a requirement to travel as and when requested to meet the requirements of the Company.

    Purpose:

    - Responsible for all maintenance, asset and equipment compliance activities required to operate the Aston Martin F1 Technical Campus and satellite sites in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner to ensure high levels of operational availability.

    - Responsible for the development and management of the Maintenance Team supporting a 24 hour/365 days per year facility.

    - Design, implementation and management of statutory inspection regimes, operational, shutdown and planned maintenance regimes and plans.

    - All works are executed in accordance with our Safe System of Work and the protection of people, plant and the environment are at the core of every activity.

    - Leading, developing and motivating the Maintenance Team to deliver first class maintenance services across the Technical Campus

    - Maintenance Team personnel planning and management.

  • Model Maker

    We have an exciting new opportunity to be part of the Model Manufacturing team as

    Model Maker

    The successful candidate will have previous experience of model making in a high-level motorsport environment, have a good attention to detail, work calmly and accurately under pressure, work positively and enthusiastically in a small team and have a flexible attitude to helping fulfil the requirements of the department and team as a whole.

    Working day shift in the Model Shop Team, the Model Maker will primarily be focused on the manufacture, assembly and testing of components for our wind tunnel test program. Whilst also ensuring all aero and race car requirements are always met to the highest possible standard.

    Weekend wind tunnel sessions in rotation is also a key requirement of the role.

    The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

    - Demonstrate experience in the manufacture of wind tunnel models and the components required for aero testing through various manufacturing processes.

    - Competent in identifying potential shortages of parts or concerns of part quality and raising these issues with the Model department leads.

    - To work with and support the Build & Car Assembly Manager and Lead technicians, to plan necessary job lists as required to ensure workloads are manageable and the required work planed for the given target event is achieved.

    - To work with and support the Lead technicians on packaging and transferring electronically, all parts required trackside.

    - To work with and support the Build & Car Assembly Manager and Lead technicians in correct routing of shop orders and feed this back into production for Templates on future assemblies.

    - Assist in the management of Build sheets and Workload sheet to keep the departments component quantity, spec’s and location up to date.

    - To lead the group in all IFS / D365 (production system) work ensuring all the necessary paperwork is being correctly produced and executed to ensure efficient functionality throughout the team.

    - To support the RT with IFS (production system) stock issues.

    - To organise all Race Team projects as required for pre shipping and all paperwork completed.

    Transmission Production Engineer

    In this role you will be required to:

    - Oversee and manage production of all race car transmission and hydraulic components, including current and development specifications, and all part lifing requirement

    - Use programme and production timings, liaising with both internal production and direct procurement teams, actively manage production quantities and demand using the ERP system

    - Be the first point of contact for escalation purposes, and feedback actions required, to the production control manager and production planning manager

    - Work unsupervised whilst maintaining clear communications regarding project delivery, whilst providing clear communications regarding delivery milestones

    - Monitor and manage the scope of requirements for future projects and manage actions required

    - Successfully manage assigned projects, ensuring all processes have been carried to the required quality and timeframe, and to relevant standard process

    - Carry out continuous process improvement for the projects

    - Ensure change management is correctly carried out for all projects

    - Ensure car performance is key focus of production engineering group, delivering quality projects within fastest possible timeline

    Key skills:

    - Possess an excellent working knowledge of F1 components and manufacturing methods

    - Possess a thorough process understanding between design release and component manufacture

    - Possess a thorough understanding of vehicle (or similar) BoM structures

    - Demonstrate a good working knowledge of project management/planning techniques

    - Previous experience of assembly management (or similar) in a Formula One environment / high level Motorsport / high paced engineering environment

    - Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales

    - Possess a good working knowledge of project management software and ability to interrogate project plans, ensuring manufacturing milestones are achieved

    - Possess recent/relevant experience of working with ERP systems and ability to create/manage assembly work orders

    Purpose

    - To support the Travel Team in placing suitable travel arrangements for all business related travel, both within the UK & overseas.

    - Ensure effective & timely administration of all travel related processes.

    - Provide support and assistance as required to travellers to ensure optimum service delivery.

    - To actively contribute to the Team’s primary objective of consistently being a top three team in the FIA Constructor’s Championship.

    Primary Responsibilities

    - Support the administration of travel booking in accordance with the Company’s Travel & Expenses policy, ensuring adherence to travel request cut-off dates, and the supporting Travel Request procedure.

    - Deliver on customer experience; provide support and assistance on travel related queries, dealing with these promptly.

    - Administering expenses and per diems for the Race Teams, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in line with payroll cut-off dates.

    - Monitoring of Travel Vaccinations - ensuring travelling team members are up to date with vaccinations and maintaining accurate records.

    - Arrangement of Visa Applications and any other travel documents for Race and Test events as and when required.

    - Arrangement of passport renewals and applications as and when required.

    - Assist with Race Team and Company Travel administration within required timescales.

    - Communicate travel entry requirements for Race and Test events and any Ad Hoc Travel.

    - Management of International Driving permits - keeping a record of who holds these and renewal dates. Complete timely renewal applications to ensure driving continuity.

    - Processing new starters, obtaining their travel documents and personal information; recording on the central travel system.

    - Assist Finance dept. with data analysis, budget support, invoicing & coding.

    - Maintaining strong communications within the Travel team, and outside of the team, making sure stakeholders are communicated to in a timely and clear manner.

    - In conjunction with the Travel Manager & Travel Coordinator, actively contribute to the continuous improvement of travel processes and procedures, ensuring they remain relevant and effective.

    - To chair, attend and proactively participate in meetings as required.

    - To work proactively, responsibly and professionally at all times and to respect and comply with the company’s reporting structure.

    - To maintain and develop skill levels to industry standard and maintain current and thorough working knowledge of relevant regulations.

    - Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to you job role.
