    An exciting opportunity exists for a CFD Software Developer - Openfoam within our CFD Department.

    We are currently looking for an enthusiastic software developer to fill an exciting position within the Computational Fluid Dynamics group.

    Relying on a high level of automation, the CFD process is critical to the car aerodynamic development and benefits from constant maintenance and improvement. The full process is built on a background of scripts driving commercial, open source and in house software.

    With a background in a CFD related field, working closely with the CFD development group and reporting to the Head of CFD, the selected candidate will be expected to develop OpenFOAM solver, tools and methods to bind and continually improve the entire CFD process. Practical experience in OpenFOAM development and/or in C++ language are required for this position. Experience in Python language and distributed computing in a Linux environment would be a distinct advantage.

    We have a new opportunity to be part of the Pattern Shop team in the role of CNC Programmer.

    The successful candidate must be enthusiastic, hardworking, knowledgeable of Pattern Shop and Composite Machining practices and standards, flexible, proactive and have a 'can do' attitude.

    The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

    – Previous experience programming using Openmind - HyperMill 5 Axis. Ideally in a Pattern Shop/Composite Machining environment.

    – Experience of Pattern Shop processes and programming/machining epoxy tooling block patterns, jigs, and moulds.

    – Previous knowledge and experience of programming machined Class A moulded composite components (inc Chassis/Gearbox/Wings/Nose) is highly desirable – extensive knowledge could offset Hypermill experience if other significant CAM experience is demonstratable.

    – Knowledge of Heidenhain/Siemens machine control would be an advantage.

    – Experience with Vericut and MSP setting software would be an advantage but not essential.

    – Experience of Openmind - Hypermill automation, macro and database creation and maintenance is desirable.

    The Key responsibilities of this role are:

    – Offline programming using Openmind Hypermill to produce patterns, moulds, jigs and Rohacell components within a busy Formula One Pattern Shop.

    – Offline programming a wide variety of both moulded composite components and pre cured carbon fibre inserts.

    – Ensuring the department is at the cutting edge of CNC machining capability, including fixturing, tooling and software utilisation.

    – Assisting in the development of department processes and integration of new machines and equipment.

    – Communicating with colleagues within the Pattern Shop and other departments.

    – Successfully meeting challenging and demanding deadlines.

    – The ability to multitask whilst remaining organised and focused.

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Engineer- Trackside

    Purpose

    This position will work in conjunction with the existing IT Trackside team and a unique role has been created to join Aston Martin F1 race team as a communication's focused engineer with some IT support responsibilities whose primary focus will part of the core IT Trackside team providing a very high level of IP and radio communications to the F1 race team.

    They will be expected to attend ALL F1 races per season going from event to event and be solely responsible for all the communications at track and ensure all equipment is always working within the garage and to the race cars.

    The successful candidate will need to have a previous experience in communications (Preferably MRTC / ClearCom systems) and require strong communication skills and the ability to work well under a high pressure and quickly react to issues that occur throughout the race weekend

    Principal Accountabilities:

    – Setup and pack down of All radio, Intercom, and IT equipment from event to event throughout the race and test season following detailed checklists and constantly evolving them. This includes taking direction from various key stakeholders within the race and test team

    – Ensuring all Intercom equipment is powered, working, charged (radios) on a daily occurrence throughout the race weekend

    – Programming of all communication hardware and software including radios, belt packs, intercom panels, virtual panels

    – Provide a very high level off support to all the race team including all levels of stakeholders including senior leadership to mechanics.

    – Liaising with other key partners in the pitlane to ensure comms to the race team and car is always functional including FIA / FOM / Marelli

    – When not carrying out communications support, the successful individual will be expected to provide extra hands-on support with the IT Trackside team which can include:

    – Client, server, storage, network, communication, audio/visual & security systems

    – Maintenance of documentation

    – Maintenance of system backups / restores

    – General IT operations, support & delivery duties including fault tracking & resolution management

    – Strong troubleshooting skills and look to promote change / improvements to infrastructure both in and out of the busy season, ensuring change control and risk is factored in on all occasions

    – Be extremely motivated and help this team strive to be the best IT and comms support team in the pitlane

    – Work closely as a team in support of incident and problem management processes

    – Contribution to new and on-going systems related projects both at track and in the factory

    – Monitoring of systems availability to ensure systems are always up and operational

    – Asset control and auditing administration

    – General IT administration including budget recommendations and control

    Typical Routines:

    – Setup and pack down of ALL intercom and IT equipment including all off the network cabling for each of the areas in the garage and extending office / trucks

    – Support / monitoring of all of the MRTC / ClearCom when the system is live after setup and reacting to any issues reported immediately through the race event week

    – Maintaining of all communications hardware stock control, asset control and manage freighting duties between air freight and sea freight throughout the season

    – Working closely with the MRTC intercom vendor for constant support duties including firmware upgrades / replacement hardware when required

    – Liaise with the Magneti Marelli support team in the pitlane to ensure comms to the car is always operational

    – Maintaining and supporting change management following ITIL processes

    – Assist delivery of new or improved IT system solutions both in the factory and at track when required

    – Installation, configuration and administration of operating systems and applications

    – Implementation, configuration, and administration of hardware platforms

    – Maintaining operations & administration processes

    – Attendance and active participation in IT department meetings

    – Organisational activities such as team / travel / meetings ensuring effective communication and close working between trackside and factory staff

    – Project delivery within budget and ensuring quality and end user satisfaction is adhered too

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    – Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in the communications motorsport industry is very much preferred however full training will be given to the right individual

    – Minimum of 2 years experience of common desktop and server platforms including VMware; MS Windows Server; MS Windows; MS Office; Active Directory; MS Exchange; MS SQL; MS Terminal Services; Client & Server hardware; SAN & Storage hardware.

    – A strong emphasis on Networking (Cisco/Juniper/Palo/HP) Formal qualifications or training preferred

    – Awareness / qualified in ITIL methodologies

    – Prior knowledge of Motorsport based toolsets / applications e.g. McLaren Applied Technologies, motorsport intercom systems etc. would be advantageous

    – Knowledge / experienced in Cloud based technologies such as MS Azure / Office 365 / Linux Kubernetes technology

    Key skills & attributes:

    Experience

    – Purchase and sales ledger experience, especially in a high volume, fast paced business

    Sales Ledger

    – Promptly raise sales ledger invoices to customers in line with contractual terms where applicable.

    – Maintain and manage the Group’s receivables ledger in the accounting system, including;

    a. receipt allocations;

    b. ageing analysis; and

    c. set-up and maintenance of new sales ledger accounts.

    – Deal with sponsor and customer queries relating to invoicing and resolve any issues that arise in the course of business.

    Treasury

    – Reconciliation of the Group’s bank accounts and daily cashbook posting.

    – Monitoring of daily cash position, cash forecasting and reporting.

    – Management and reconciliation of the Group’s credit card process and statements, including liaising with the business to resolve queries.

    – Ownership of the overnight deposit process

    Accounts Payable

    – Process invoices from suppliers promptly.

    – Ensure that all invoices are matched to purchase order receipts or other records of authorisation prior to payment.

    – Reconciliation of supplier statements to ensure all invoices have been input on the purchase ledger.

    – Deal with supplier queries and resolve any issues that arise in the course of business.

    – Ensure all undisputed creditor invoices are paid within agreed payment credit terms.

    – Preparation of periodic and ad-hoc payables reporting and analysis.

    – Maintain and manage the Group’s payables ledger in the accounting system, including;

    a. payment allocations; and

    b. set-up of new supplier accounts.

    – Assisting in the preparation of payment runs, proforma and ad-hoc payments to be made from Group bank accounts

    – Participate in P2P workshops and PO training to educate the wider business with respect to best practice.

    Accounting Processes and Control

    – Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

    – Completion of ONS surveys

    – Preparation of accruals in relation to treasury and credit cards.

    – Other ad hoc work to support the finance team as required.

    The key responsibilities of this role are:

    CORE PLACEMENTS

    Year 1 – Finance Analyst – Insights & Reporting

    – Support the production of timely, insightful, and accurate management reporting for the business and preparation of the leadership and department reporting packs which cover monthly performance, quarterly forecasts and Budgets – ensuring all department owners have access to timely, reliable and insightful reports on demand.

    – Development of a new reporting suite – promoting the use of tools including Power BI across the wider organisation, to enable more automated, insightful information, whist ensuring consistency in approach for the wider team. Integration of key KPI's, including operational metrics, so dashboards can be utilised by Finance Business Partners and the entire business to drive decision making and ensure performance objectives are realised.

    – Working closely with the Business Partnering Function to determine department reporting needs, building relationships with wider stakeholders and be seen as a key enabler by the wider finance team.

    Year 2 – Assistant Finance Business Partner

    – Ensure accuracy of the monthly cost position in your areas of responsibility via robust oversight of expected and actual costs

    – Ensure POs and invoices are coded correctly onto the P&L or balance sheet through regular review of invoices with accounts payables and cost centre reviews to check for incorrect postings

    – Post any relevant prepayments/accruals/ other accounting entries as part of the month end process

    – Perform variance analysis during and following the month end process for cost centres in your area of responsibility, capturing key drivers for variances from forecast and highlighting risks and opportunities

    – Ownership of the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and support with audit process

    – Maintain robust records of all calculations/data inputs, including movements between forecast points to support agile reporting and trend analysis

    – Support with data/analysis as needed for FIA cost reporting

    – Support the FBPs with ad-hoc analysis to identify opportunities to eliminate waste and/or achieve efficiencies

    – Provide business partnering for your areas of responsibility, supporting the business to drive action & deliver improvements

    – Apply a continual improvement mindset to proactively identify further business partnering opportunities

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

    – Work cohesively within the Finance team, applying a flexible approach and supporting each other to ensure all obligations are fulfilled accurately and to schedule, and all business stakeholders' needs are met

    – Provide cover for team during periods of absence

    – Assist wider members of the Finance team with ad-hoc requests to support the business when required

    GRADUATE PROJECTS

    Core role to be supplemented by projects across the 2 year development programme, which focus on driving insight to the wider organisation and/or process improvement which supports our wider transformation agenda. Due to the fast moving nature of our business and industry, graduate projects will be driven by business need and aligned to the development needs of the individual, which could focus in the following areas:

    – Development of our new Non-F1 Organisation, supporting the business plan and ensuring compliance with FIA TD45 regulations

    – Supporting the implementation of a new ERP system, helping the team optimise functionality and drive automation wherever possible

    – Reviewing and improving processes and controls to support our internal policies and governance, whilst simplifying for finance and external stakeholders

    Reporting

    – Lead the production of timely, insightful, and accurate management reporting for the business and preparation of the leadership and department reporting packs which cover monthly performance, quarterly forecasts and Budgets – ensuring all department owners have access to timely, reliable and insightful reports on demand.

    – Own the development of a new reporting suite – promoting the use of tools including Power BI across the wider organisation, to enable more automated, insightful information, whist ensuring consistency in approach for the wider team. Integration of key KPI's, including operational metrics, so dashboards can be utilised by Finance Business Partners and the entire business to drive decision making and ensure performance objectives are realised.

    – Supporting the FP&A team with models and reporting linked to quarterly forecasts, Budgets and Long Range Plans (5YP) and implementation of new financial reporting tools and software

    – Working closely with the Business Partnering Function to determine department reporting needs, building relationships with wider stakeholders and be seen as the expert in your field.

    We have an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Aerodynamicist working in the Development group of the Aerodynamics department.

    The successful applicant for this role will have recently graduated in the last two years with a top-class degree/postgraduate qualification in an Aeronautical/Aerodynamics discipline.

    Within this role you will be responsible for helping to define, develop and implement the current philosophy for the aerodynamics of the Team's race cars.

    Your primary responsibility will be working both with CFD and practical aerodynamic testing, taking ideas through from concept generation to execution in the Wind Tunnel including the subsequent performance analysis and report generation.

    The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of aerodynamics, a keen attention to detail, be proactive, enthusiastic and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    The Modern Workplace Engineer role will be based at our technical campus in Silverstone and will be focused on the delivery of O365 projects. We are on a path to update our estate to the latest offerings from Microsoft and the role holder will be identifying, preparing and packaging applications within the Intune environment to support this.     We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical engineer to be part of the Aero R&D Team in the role of Senior Aero R&D Design Engineer (ATE).

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination, design and delivery of Aston Martin F1's Aero Testing Equipment, ATE projects.

    A typical project will consist of taking input from an Aerodynamicist about what flow feature he is trying to quantify, liaising with Computational Fluid Dynamics Department to design the rake and ensure it is fit for purpose. Then engineering and coordinating that rake onto the race car or wind tunnel model to hit a target event or test date.

    The role requires team-working with many areas across the company in both the Race Car and Aerodynamic Design Offices. It is a demanding role but allows the creative ideas of the engineer to be realised out on track and in our state-of-the-art Wind tunnel facilities.

    This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical designer looking to broaden their influence and take on overall responsibility for the delivery and continuous improvement of this important engineering function.

    Primary Responsibilities

    – To provide design schemes from concept stage to component design, assemblies and detail drawings for Aero Testing Equipment (ATE).

    – To mechanically engineer designs and problem solve issues arising from ATE projects.

    – To take ownership for the planning, design, management and coordination of ATE projects.

    Skills & Knowledge Required

    What does an R&D role involve?:

    – R&D’s function is to test, measure and investigate all aspects of the mechanical and structural systems of the Aston Martin Formula 1 car.

    – Our input is needed in hugely diverse areas of the car including chassis safety and crash testing, suspension behaviour, power unit systems and cooling, gearbox, wings and structural bodywork as well as brakes and driver controls.

    – Working with design we will understand the demands and requirements of each critical part then design factory rigs and fixturing which allow us to test that part in as close to on-car conditions as possible.

    – By observing behaviour and measuring outcomes we can improve our knowledge, simulation techniques, component reliability and ultimately the performance the our racing car.

    – We keep run logs, observation notes, photos and video then analyse the data and produce relevant plots.

    – Key findings are then reported both verbally and through concise written communication

    To support the growth of the team, we have an exciting opportunity to be part of the Structural Analysis Team in the role of Stress Engineer.

    You will be responsible for structural analysis of components and assemblies (metallic and composite), using finite element methods and hand calculations, to find the most mass-efficient solutions. This role will be involved in a wide variety of analysis projects to support our whole design team in delivering optimum solutions to the track.

    The successful applicant will possess an Engineering Degree (min 2:1 grade) and ideally have experience working within a structural analysis team, in an Automotive or similar field. A good understanding of analysis of composites and metallic materials using a mixture of FEA and hand calculations is expected, along with a strong working knowledge of Altair HyperWorks and Catia V5/V6 (or similar).

    You may additionally have experience of wider analysis concepts, such as design optimisation and non-linear analyses (contact, etc).

    You will also have excellent written and oral communication skills and have a calm and considered approach to design & development in pressurised environments.

    This is an opportunity to join a group central to maintaining the structural integrity of the F1 car, whilst pushing the limits of what is possible with the available materials and techniques, all within a challenging time frame.

    We have opportunities to be part of the Production Control team in the role of Technical Buyer.

    The Successful candidate must have the following attributes:

    – Possess good overall knowledge of Formula One or similar component procurement. Wide range from composites & metallics to electronics & workshop equipment.

    – Possess an excellent working knowledge of processes used with component manufacture and assembly.

    – Demonstrate a good working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems such as IFS, SAP or similar.

    – To be self-motivated and to motivate others to thrive in a challenging environment

    – Ability to calmly and confidently work under pressure to achieve targets and deliver results within required timescales

    – To communicate effectively, positively, and respectfully with all colleagues

    – To have a flexible attitude and ability to work as part of a team in a demanding and rapidly changing environment

    – Be results orientated and be confident in your decision-making skills

    – Be enthusiastic and versatile and be able to build, develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues

    – Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety.

    The Key responsibilities of this role are:

    – To procure and expedite the components used across an F1 car – including but not limited to metallics, composites and proprietary items.

    – Ensure the validity of parts supply is clear within the ERP system.

    – Ensure the relevant stakeholders remain informed of procurement and supply chain challenges and delivery delays.

    – Ensure components are purchased with Quality, cost, and lead time in mind, understanding and mitigating the risks to the business with any deviation from this requirement.

    – Ensure suppliers selected can meet all specifications and quality standards defined by AMF1 design.

    – Key supplier liaison with focus on reducing lead-times, increasing agility, delivery performance & achieving best value.

    – Onboarding of new suppliers in conjunction with the Supplier Quality Team to enhance the supply chain capability and capacity.

    – Develop and enhance the relationships within the supply chain to ensure clear and consistent communication links.

    – To work proactively, responsibly, and professionally always, and to respect and comply with the company's reporting structure.

    – Any other duties as reasonably requested aligned to your job role.
