Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant Esports Team is bringing new energy to the virtual world with a determination to shake up the order and compete. The team's goal for 2022 is to carry the momentum of last year's title-contending campaign in the F1 Esports Pro Championship into the new season, while also taking on the V10 R-League and making a competitive debut in the SRO Esports series with an all-new roster of exciting talent behind the wheel.
A finalist in last year's Formula E: Accelerate series and a podium finisher in the 2020 Le Mans 24 Hours Virtual, representing Aston Martin, Manuel Biancolilla has shown pace across a variety of virtual racing disciplines: including the F1 Esports Pro Championship, having previously raced with Toro Rosso (AlphaTauri) in the series.
John Evans is no stranger to high level sim racing, having finishing runner-up in the second tier of Premier Sim Gaming Leagues' F1 Championship in the summer of 2021 before graduating to the top tier for 2022 and claiming third in World Online Racing's championship at the end of 2021.
Simon Weigang brings a wealth of experience to AMF1 Esports. Signed by Renault (Alpine) in 2019 via the Pro Draft selection process, Simon impressed on his debut and has since fronted the efforts of both Alfa Romeo and Haas over the last two seasons, becoming a regular points scorer.
Having won the 24 Hours of Daytona in iRacing and finishing runner up in the 2017 F1 Esports Series, Fabrizio is no stranger to success. Bringing with him over six years of experience in Esports, his knowledge and expertise will help push the team to the very top.
Joining the team as Development Driver for 2022, Duncan Hofland adds even greater strength in depth to an already talented squad. Having reached the finals of this year's F1 Esports Pro Exhibition and after finishing third in PSGL's second tier F1 Championship, Duncan already has plenty of high level sim racing experience under his belt and will play a key role as we aim to maximise our potential across the current season and build for future success.
