Making a mark in Miami with Xerox

Xerox school visit header

In the build-up to the Miami Grand Prix, we visited the students of Booker T. Washington Senior High School to bring them closer to the world of F1, shine a light on pathways to careers in the sport and build their STEM knowledge.

Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, we teamed up with our Global Partner, Xerox to deliver a Make A Mark school outreach programme consisting of opportunities for students to engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) focused activities and learn about career pathways into Formula One.

The workshops were delivered by Aston Martin Aramco's charity partner, Driven By Us, a UK and US based organisation that delivers educational programmes designed to provide a platform for students to embrace opportunities in STEM and raise knowledge, skills, and aspirations for careers in motorsports and technology.

The event kicked off with a school assembly, offering a chance for students to learn from F1 ACADEMY driver Tina Hausmann and discover what it means to be a racing driver ahead of Tina taking to the track in Miami for Round Three of the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season.

Deena LaMarque Piquion, Xerox Chief Growth & Disruption Officer, and Tino Lancellotti, Xerox Chief Information Officer, also joined us to share advice on how to achieve fulfilling and rewarding careers and offer an insight into what collaboration means for Xerox and Aston Martin Aramco.

An educational workshop for the students allowed us to bring engineering to life, and a CV masterclass delivered by Xerox gave an opportunity for students to hone and refine their résumés.

Our latest outreach programme in Miami follows in the footsteps of the team's previous Make A Mark activities in Miami, such as speaking to local students about the career opportunities available in motorsport,

In addition to supporting young people in discovering STEM careers and developing their understanding through workshop activities, students also had the chance to see an F1 car up close, with our Aston Martin Aramco show car on display at the school.

15 students also joined us at Miami International Autodrome to learn more about our trackside operations, take a tour of the paddock and get an unparalleled insight into everything that goes on during a race weekend and the diverse roles that enable us to go racing.

Watch the video below to find out more and discover what the students got up to.
