8 TikToks you will sacrifice sleep for from the start of the 2024 F1 season

Demo runs, double-headers, and Fernando Alonso swapping four wheels for two. This is what TikTok made of our start to the 2024 Formula One season.

Tiktoks season start 2024

Since AMR24 broke cover last month, it's been a busy few weeks for the team. The season began in earnest in Bahrain, following three days of testing, with Lance and Fernando achieving a double points finish.

We crossed the border into Saudi Arabia for round two, focused on pushing the limits on the track but also off it with our first ever demo run on the streets of Riyadh.

Aston Martin Aramco Driver Ambassador Jessica Hawkins became the first woman to drive a current-era F1 car, inspiring the next generation ahead of International Women's Day, before Tina Hausmann made her F1 Academy debut and Fernando scored a top-five finish around Jeddah's stunning Corniche.

But what did TikTok make of it all? Here are some of our favourite TikToks from the start of the season…

1 | A new season begins

The 2024 F1 season, the longest in the World Championship's history, burst into life at the Bahrain Grand Prix. The excitement to go racing again was palpable…

2 | Looking the part

Aston Martin's iconic Racing Green has officially become the most popular colour choice for Aston Martins. Nearly a quarter of Aston Martin customers are opting for the official Aston Martin Racing Green colour. After watching TikToks like this from @mohamd4355, it's not hard to see why.

3 | KO

Fernando has never shied away from voicing his true feelings, and in the media pen at the Bahrain Grand Prix he wasn't pulling any punches as he embarks on his 22nd season in F1.

4 | Bouncing back in Bahrain

Securing a double points finish in the season opener looked unlikely when Lance was tipped into a spin at the first corner, but a dogged Lance fought his way back to a top-10 finish. His fightback through the field went somewhat under the radar, but not for @basementbrakes.

5 | Fernando's new toy

Fernando loves to go fast on anything with wheels – be it four or two.

For the 2024 campaign, he's broken out a new scooter and already been spotted speeding around the paddock.

6 | Safety. First.

Ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the new Aston Martin Vantage was announced as the latest Formula One Safety Car. Boasting a 30 per cent increase in power over the previous model, the fastest, most driver-focused Vantage is poised to lead the field throughout the season and @shelbynicolexf1 most definitely approves.

7 & 8 | Inspiring the next generation

We made a little bit of history ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Together with our title partner, Aramco, we're pushing the limits of possibility and in the build-up to International Women's Day, Jessica lit up the streets of Riyadh in the AMR22, becoming the first woman to drive the latest generation of F1 car.

And, before completing our first ever demo run, Jessica was joined by Aston Martin Aramco F1 Academy driver Tina Hausmann at the Seven Concours to launch a new Aramco-supported karting initiative designed to bring more women and girls into motorsport within the Kingdom and beyond.
