Aston Martin and Aramco: Pushing the limits, together

Aston Martin F1

Those who dare, defy expectations.

A shared ambition to inspire. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do.

Together, Aston Martin and Aramco are pushing the limits of possibility both on and off the track.

And the week of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is no exception.

Pushing the limits, together

Ahead of International Women's Day (IWD), Aston Martin Aramco Driver Ambassador Jessica Hawkins lit up the streets of the Riyadh Boulevard in the AMR22, becoming the first woman to drive the latest generation of F1 car.

The largest entertainment centre in Riyadh, the Riyadh Boulevard provided a spectacular and iconic backdrop for Jessica to showcase the AMR22 in front of a thrilled crowd.

A landmark moment, this was Aston Martin Aramco's first ever demo run, and few locations could have been more fitting for this historic event than Saudi Arabia, the home of our title partner Aramco.

Jessica blasted past the onlooking crowd in AMR22 as she created yet more history. Last year, she inspired the next generation of female racers by driving the AMR21 in Hungary as she experienced F1 machinery for the first time, and she's continued in that vein by becoming the first woman to drive an F1 car designed to the current regulations.

Speaking after the run, Jessica said: "It was my first time driving the AMR22 in Saudi Arabia and at night! It is another special moment I will remember for a long time. I am delighted to be working with our title partner Aramco on their various projects to inspire women and girls to take up motorsport.

"Since I drove the F1 car in Hungary last year, I have been contacted by lots of women and girls around the world asking how they can get involved. Ahead of IWD it is vital to be seen and hopefully that will encourage more youngsters to get involved. The next stop is Jeddah to support our F1 Academy driver Tina Hausmann ahead of her debut for the Aston Martin Aramco team."

Inspiring the next generation

Before blazing down the streets of Riyadh, Jessica was joined by Tina at the Seven Concours to launch a new Aramco-supported karting initiative designed to bring more women and girls into motorsport within the Kingdom and beyond.

The launch event included STEM-focused tutorials for local female school students, to help inspire the next generation ahead of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with karting and educational initiatives set to be delivered by the team and our title partner in the lead up to more races later in the season.

The students had the opportunity to ask Jessica, Tina and Aston Martin Aramco driver Fernando Alonso about career opportunities available in motorsport and the different pathways to a career in the sport, with Tina set make her F1 Academy debut later this week in Jeddah as we continue to push the limits and inspire next generation with Aramco.
