AMR24

The next chapter of our hyper-focused journey

The culmination of countless hours of work and uncompromising craft, the AMR24 builds on the strengths of its predecessor and applies the learnings from our most successful season to date.

We have honed our understanding to produce a car with a wider operating window to unlock performance across the different circuits on Formula One's record-breaking calendar.

The first car to be designed and built at our state-of-the-art AMR Technology Campus, our 2024 challenger is a strong evolution and has been designed to provide the perfect platform for in season development as we continue our relentless pursuit of progress.

The chassis design is new, as well as the nose, front wing, front suspension and rear suspension. We want to compete in the development race this season and this car is designed to do just that.

FROM THE FRONT

Cutting through the air at speeds of more than 220mph, the front wing directs airflow across all the aerodynamic surfaces and is crucial to the performance of the car.

The AMR24 features a revised front wing and nose design for more effective and efficient management of wake from the 18-inch front wheels.

The front wing and nose work in tandem with the over-wheel winglets to control the front-wheel wake and direct it away from the bodywork to help increase downforce at the rear of the car.

MASTERING THE AIR

Much of the car's downforce is generated by the floor. Extracting the most from this area is key to unlocking performance; the design of the sidepods and bodywork has been overhauled to improve airflow management around the floor and over the rear wing.

The undercut beneath the sidepod inlet is deeper while the upper surface retains the distinctive downward swooping channel of the AMR24's predecessor, creating ridged sidepod shoulders that guide air along the sides of the car.

Bodywork is shrink-wrapped around the compact, turbocharged 1.6-litre V6 hybrid power unit and cooling systems beneath, and the upper section features a cooling cannon at the rear that directs air from the radiators.

PUSHING FOR MORE

Suspension has two key roles: controlling weight transfer to improve cornering ability and ensuring as much of the tyre is in contact with the track surface as possible for more grip and earlier throttle application. Suspension layout also influences aerodynamics, as the suspension arms are exposed and located in highly sensitive aerodynamic areas.

The AMR24 features a push-rod suspension layout at both the front and rear; the wheel assembly is joined to the chassis by a diagonal structure with a higher point on the car's body.

The front suspension has been changed to improve performance in conjunction with the front wing and floor. The rear suspension has been optimised to maximise the efficiency of airflow around the rear wing, enhance the design of the diffuser and floor, and accommodate Mercedes' latest power unit and eight-speed, semi-automatic gearbox.

Work has been done on both ends of the car in terms of suspension. The front will work more efficiently alongside the front wing, and aero work has been done at the rear to optimise our layout in that area.
