2025 SEASON
The Debrief by Aramco
Beneath the Styrian mountains, our duo finished the Austrian Grand Prix in P7 and P14.
Following a brief interlude in North America, F1 returned to Europe for the Austrian Grand Prix. A wonderfully old-school event set amongst a patchwork quilt of upland pastures, this is a race for camping and heaving grandstands, blistering sun and sudden, fierce thunderstorms. It's never dull.
The Red Bull Ring is a pocket-sized power track, the primary characteristic of which is three consecutive DRS straights forming three sides of a rhombus with some high-speed corners as the infield section. Plenty of speed, plenty of camber, plenty of altitude change, plenty of drama.
While Lance endured a frustrating home Grand Prix in Canada, Fernando had a combative and satisfying Sunday in Montréal, coming home P7. Austria posed different demands, but the team was ready for the Ring and came away with six points.
Aston Martin Aramco Young Driver Jak Crawford was also in action at a circuit he'd like to roll up and take around the world with him. Jak's tasted victory at the Red Bull Ring in ADAC F4, Italian F4, Euroformula, Formula 3 and Formula 2. Following a podium in Austria's Feature Race, he sits third in the 2025 F2 Championship and is in a rich vein of form.
Young Spaniard Mari Boya who, having just been announced as the first member of the team's newly launched Driver Academy and a recent podium in Monaco, also arrived with us in Austria with a spring in his step and plenty of momentum.
