Driven By Sound: Aston Martin Aramco x Defected Records

Four days, one London pop-up, live sets, the first I / AM DROP of the season and the coming together of two communities. This week, we celebrate F1 and house music, Driven By Sound.

In an exclusive collaboration with iconic British house music label Defected Records, we're bringing F1 and house music together at our exclusive pop-up in Soho, London, with a four-day takeover celebrating F1 and house music, Driven By Sound.

I / AM has always been about celebrating the many ways our fans show up, connect and share their passion for the team and the sport. Defected Records has built its own community around the same idea: people coming together through a shared love of house music. Driven By Sound brings those communities together into the same room.

Not because F1 and house music need to be made to fit. Because they already share something that matters: the power to bring people together, create a sense of belonging and make a moment feel bigger when you experience it with others.

For four days, expect live sets, vinyl, limited-edition pieces, conversations, community and a few surprises.

From 27 to 30 August, 19 D'Arblay Street in Soho becomes the home of Driven By Sound.

Come in and explore Defected vinyl, limited-edition merchandise, Aston Martin Aramco moments and surprise appearances. Meet like-minded fans and stick around for live sets throughout the takeover.

Here's what's happening and when...

THURSDAY

The Preview | 18:25–21:00

We’re kicking things off with a conversation about performance, culture and sound, featuring legendary DJ Simon Marlin, better known as The Shapeshifters, and Aston Martin Aramco Chief Marketing Officer Rob Bloom.

Then the conversation gives way to the music, with an intimate live set from The Shapeshifters, one of house music's most celebrated artists, responsible for some of the genre's most enduring records and dancefloor moments.

The evening is invitation-only. A select group of I / AM members will be on the guest list. Keep reading to find out how you could be one of them with the Defected DROP.

FRIDAY

Driven By Sound Pop-Up | 11:00–15:00

Start the weekend at the store. Browse Defected vinyl, shop Defected limited-edition merchandise, customise your own pieces, take part in giveaways, get up close to parts of the AMR26, explore the Defected DROP and take in the beats of Driven By Sound.

Get involved: Just turn up. The pop-up is open to everyone.

Monki presents Garage Session | 19:00–21:00

Come for the music. Stay for the atmosphere. DJ Monki takes over the decks for an evening with her new label Sesión, bringing garage, energy and friends into the store.

SATURDAY

Grind Coffee Mixer with sets from Sam Divine & RUZE | 10:00–12:30

Start the day properly. Grab a complimentary coffee from Grind, connect with fellow fans and catch a live set from Defected DJs Sam Divine and RUZE.

Todd Edwards & Friends | 13:00–18:00

US house and garage pioneer Todd Edwards brings his signature sound to Soho, alongside a line-up of special guests. Expect soulful vocals, chopped-up samples, the Jesus Loves Garage T-shirt signing and a few surprises along the way.

Get involved: Head to 19 D'Arblay Street and spend the afternoon with us. Open to everyone.

SUNDAY

Defected Run Club | 09:00–12:00

Move first. Dance later. Join the Defected Run Club for a Sunday morning run, fuelled by Celsius, then stick around for live DJs and the rest of the day's programme.

Get involved: Limited ticket released at 10:00 on 28 August. Keep an eye on our social channels for details, and meet us ready to move.

The Final Hours | 13:00–15:00

One last chance to get into the store, hear the beats and pick up Defected merchandise before the takeover wraps.

The Defected DROP

If you know I / AM DROPS, you'll know the idea: limited experiences, objects and collaborations that takes Aston Martin Aramco beyond the track and into the places, communities and culture around it.

The platform launched last year with a series of DROPS built around unexpected collaborations, limited-edition products and one-off experiences, including The Rolling Stones, Santan Dave, and Dom Dolla.

This time, we're bringing Defected Records into the mix.

01 | The Preview

This is the one you have to be there for.

The Shapeshifters take inspiration from the rituals, intensity and energy of Aston Martin Aramco, then turn that inspiration into a bespoke set and record selection.

Winners of this DROP will experience it all live in an intimate listening session, with The Shapeshifters taking you through the tracks, the thinking behind them and the connections they found between Formula One and music.

The moment, worn.
