Unearthing greatness: The story behind Maaden's Lance Stroll helmet takeover

From the AMR Technology Campus to the Silverstone grid, discover how Aston Martin Aramco and Maaden are using a special one-off helmet to celebrate innovation, opportunity and the future of STEM.

Lance has revealed a special one-off helmet for the British Grand Prix, marking the latest chapter in Aston Martin Aramco's partnership with Maaden and a shared commitment to creating opportunities for young people through STEM education.

The reveal formed part of a wider celebration of the launch of Motorsport Valley's first STEM Racing Centre of Excellence, delivered through a new partnership between the University of Warwick, STEM Racing, Maaden and Aston Martin Aramco. Together, the initiatives reflect the partners' shared ambition to create meaningful pathways into engineering, technology and advanced manufacturing.

The helmet itself brings together two powerful stories. Continuing Maaden's Unearth Your Greatness campaign, the design combines the company's distinctive earthy colour palette with the vibrant orange and pink hues of STEM Racing, creating a striking visual that builds on the metallic finishes first seen on Aston Martin Aramco and Maaden's Monaco Grand Prix livery earlier this season.

The result is a design that celebrates both innovation and opportunity, reflecting Maaden's position as a leader in modern mining while recognising the next generation of engineers, designers and innovators who will shape tomorrow's industries.

"It's always special to race with a one-off helmet," said Lance.

"A key part of our partnership with Maaden is helping to create opportunities for the next generation, and initiatives like this show young people what's possible.

"Formula One is built on innovation, teamwork and problem-solving, and it's great that we're able to use our platform to encourage more students to explore STEM subjects and imagine themselves working in industries like ours in the future."

The helmet reveal was the centrepiece of a day focused on opening doors to future careers in engineering and technology.

More than 80 young people from eight local schools took part in immersive engineering activities at the AMR Technology Campus during a STEM Experience event at the team's annual Make A Mark Day.

Students experienced hands-on STEM Racing activities, toured the AMR Technology Campus, and met leaders from across education, industry and motorsport, including Maaden CEO Bob Wilt, Aston Martin Aramco Team Representative Pedro de la Rosa, STEM Racing founder Andrew Denford and representatives from the University of Warwick.
